From the alpine meadows of Malga Vacil the trail leads to Dosso Rotondo, a walk through nature and archeology, guided by Tommaso Beltrami, an expert on the area’s history.  Then come the aromas of open-air cooking, tastings and lunch prepared by the Polenter di Storo.  

An encounter of mountains, tradition and cuisine.

Event program:

9 am – hike to the archaeological site of Dosso Rotondo, led by expert guide Tommaso Beltrami

  • Starting point: Malga Vacil (1800 m a.s.l)
  • Arrival point: Dosso Rotondo archaeological site (1860 m a.s.l)
  • Total length: 2 km (round trip)
  • Difference in altitude: 60 m
  • Duration: about 2 hours
  • Difficulty: suitable for everyone

Participants are recommended to wear suitable shoes (trekking shoes or hiking boots) and bring a bottle of water, a sweatshirt, a rain jacket, and a hat. Also, long pants are suggested.

11 am – live show cooking with free tasting by Chef Marco Salvotelli (tasting reserved for adults only)

  • Tasting of mountain canederli with a molten heart and alpine butter, Spressa delle Giudicarie DOP, and aromatic herbs
  • Fregolati cake with zabaione and alpine butter
  • Paired with Val di Non apple juice and Chardonnay Terrazze della Luna wine

12:30 pm – lunch with Polenta Carbonera and cabbage salad for 6 euros (drinks not included), prepared by the Polenter di Storo, with bar service by the local Pro Loco.
